The Perfect Character: A Typographic Film Character Creation Tool, 2016.

The Perfect Character envisions a scenario where a visitor to theperfectcharacter.com could custom design a typographic “character” (an upper case letter) using a series of slider controls. The character the visitor designs is then dynamically inserted into a motion graphics-based film. The project is inspired by The Perfect Human (1967), a 13-minute short film by Jørgen Leth. This video abstract was developed in my graduate (MFA in Design) studies at the Dynamic Media Institute at Massachusetts College of Art and Design—and is more fully documented in my graduate thesis book The Education of a Communication Designer (2017).
