Lecturemate was a speculative, voice-controlled dynamic media software system designed to increase the comprehension and accessibility of lectures—especially for creative learners. Lecturemate captures and stores the audio and/or video of a lecture, allowing students to rewatch the lecture, which is dynamically transcribed into text. The transcribed text can then be selected, defined, graphed and explored. Students can also add timestamped notes and sketches for later review. This video abstract was for a project developed in my graduate (MFA) studies at the Dynamic Media Institute at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
